Boulder International Fringe Festival Presents:
Fast Forward Fringe Festival: Poetry In Motion
7-14 August 2010 in Downtown Denver

Fast Forward Fringe Festival: Poetry in Motion is a debut event with an aggressive artistic vision bent on approaching human truth through combining the two powerful perspectives of film and poetry. Within one awesome art-filled week, we will randomly pair up the specific voices of 6 diverse and unique poets with 6 skilled and individual filmmakers and set them to task to create a short film in 7 days.

Poetry in Motion has no desire to simply lump a poet and a director together and then lock them in a room and see what happens. No, we are offering a challenge, a way to stretch this art experiment and transcend from the obvious to vault into the breathtaking and fresh. Instead of a direct representation of the poet’s work, we are pushing filmmakers to extrapolate a concept or a feeling or a word or a thesis or etc. from the poem they are assigned and to then create a unique short film.

Three nights of festivities at downtown Denver venues will exhibit our participants’ work and host embarrassing riches of local art:
