That’s right: Extraordinary Performance Importation and Circulation. Our flagship touring artists program is back for more! EPIC presents work from all over the world right here at your very own home of Denver’s avant garde performance culture. This weekend we bring you our second presentation of work by Aura Fischbeck (San Francisco), accompanied by world-class local guests Cara Reeser and 3rd Law Dance/Theater. Tickets are going fast! Look left for full info.
Getting Romantik. Control Group’s new work is coming up in just two weeks! (Look left for details.) To pique your interest, here’s a selection from our photo shoot with Mark Sink and Kristen Hatgi. (full info) Getting the thanks they deserve. As I announced joyfully last week, CGP has is officially a non-profit. What I failed to mention is that we took this step through the incredible support and hard work of our friends at Jackson PLLC. A HUGE thank-you (and a digital round of applause!) to Lara, Suzie, and Nathan for your contribution to our organization. Take the (funding) initiative. Share CGP with Durham, NC. Control Group is performing at the American Dance Festival this summer (yes, we know, RIGHTEOUS!), and we need your help to get the company to Durham, NC this July! $1,500 will bring our 4-person company to Durham for a week of performances, participation at ADF, and networking opportunities for further touring. More floor! Our new venue is bigger (and badder!), and to get it fully outfitted we need to expand our flooring. We’ve received a generous loan of dance flooring from Mary Lynn Lewark to help us through the next couple months. $2,000 will purchase the dance linoleum and plywood to complete the permanent installation. HOW TO DONATE. We’re working on getting set up to process credit card and bank draft donations. In the meantime, the best way to contribute is by check. Make check out to "Control Group Productions" and send it to: More info about donating to CGP… We’ve got class. Fridays 10-11:30 (2/3-6/1): CGP Company Class. Adv/Prof Contemporary Movement with Patrick Mueller. Drop-ins welcome, $12 or 5 for $50. Super-fun, gentle/fierce, advanced/professional dance-based-movement. (full info here) Fridays 4:30-5:30pm: Happy Hour Restorative Yoga. Led by CGP Assistant Director Kristine Whittle. Happy hour pricing ($10/class). Slough off your work week. (full info here) Saturday 4/14: Tiny Riots (dance workshop). Explore movement from its most basic elements – breathing, meditation, and motor imagery. With dancer Katie Anhalt. (full info)
