Control Group offers weekly company classes, and is planning several workshops and intensives for 2019. Join our listserv to keep up with everything we're up to now and in the future.
We currently offer professional training exclusively at our new home studio in Lakewood. Because this a residential property in a bucolic suburban neighborhood, these classes are private / by invitation only, and donation-based.
If we know you, shoot us an email and we'll send you details about how to show up. If you don't know us yet but would like to, please contact us so that we can get to know you and invite you to move with us.
Here are our current offerings:
PRACTICE | weekly class for advanced movers
ADVANCED MOVEMENT TECHNIQUE
January 14 – March 1, 2019
This class combines practices from contemporary dance, physical theatre, and integrative somatics. We work from the inside out, aiming for a facile physical practice that can serve many different movement goals.
January 17 – February 28, 2019
A class focusing on internal and energetic work, with using simple movement exercises to refine our engagement with activities from pedestrian to virtuosic. We spend time building technical foundations, cleaning fundamental coordinations, and cultivating energetics and presence.
These are the things we need to do every day.
PRACTICE, for professional dancers and advanced movers, seeks a facile physical training regimen that sets us up for many different activities. The work aims to clear out obstacle, to hone clarity, and to cultivate presence and availability in the fascinating, ecstatic, fearless moment of motion. Through guided improvisation, set sequencing, and repetitive pathways, we immerse ourselves in our individual practice.
All classes taught by Patrick Mueller (artistic director)
