Control Group's Artist Services Program, co-administered with the Professionals Program at Colorado Conservatory of Dance presents a mini-festival of new works by resident and partnered artists – an extraordinary collection of powerful voices in Colorado's growing dance scene.
For the past three years Colorado Conservatory of Dance, with support from Broomfield-based dance company Control Group Productions, has hosted creative residencies for professional choreographers and open classes for professional and pre-professional dancers. In 2016 the two organizations have expanded this programming partnership to include a season of fully-produced live performances.
The performance runs for two nights only at CCD’s Studio Theater, a transformable black-box-style venue outfitted with Control Group’s technical equipment and staff.
CCD’s Professionals Program works together with Control Group’s Artist Services Program to build Colorado’s professional dance scene by providing crucial support to emerging and independent dance artists. CCD’s Professionals Program focuses on providing studio space necessary to for dancers to train and for choreographers to create new works. Control Group’s Artist Services offers administrative and production support to local dance artists and companies, co-administering CCD’s residency and training offerings and also helping resident groups and other local and touring artists to present their final products on the Front Range.
Control Group Productions is a platform for live arts research, development, distribution, and advocacy. The organization houses a professional dance-based performance company and provides an array of administrative and production services to other artists and groups.

Formerly known as Ballet Nouveau Colorado, Colorado Conservatory of Dance was founded in 1992 to fill a need for quality ballet training and educational dance programs in Denver's north metro community. The school serves more than 400 students per year and is committed to every student regardless of age, ability, aspiration, or socio-economic status. Under the guidance of Julia Wilkinson Manley since 2002, the school is highly respected for providing a nurturing and professional environment for students from pre-school through adult.
Since its inception, CCD has worked closely with area schools, using dance to enrich and deepen the way kids learn academic principles. Its Community Education Programs now reach over 15,000 individuals each year throughout Adams, Broomfield, Jefferson, Boulder and Denver Counties, including a partnership with the Mount Saint Vincent Home and performances by CCD’s Studio Company for 8 elementary schools across Denver and the North Metro area.
CCD’s Professionals Program, founded in 2013, aims to support Colorado’s dynamic professional dance community. Co-administered with resident company Control Group Productions, the Professionals Program provides artist residencies, subsidized training, and performance opportunities for local professional dance artists.
