WORKSHOP: Making Dances

This is a workshop where we make some dances and show them to one another. Namely, we will explore composition and improvisation strategies that help us to consider new ways to structure and process performance. we will laugh a lot and it will be fun, I swear.
Bio: Ashley Anderson is a choreographer and teacher from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her recent choreographic work has been shown in Salt Lake City at Sugar Space, the City Library and the Capitol Building, in Philadelphia at Mascher Space Cooperative, Studio 34 and Crane Arts Gallery, in Richmond at Art 6, and in New York at Dixon Place and Joyce SOHO. Her work was also presented by the HU/ADF MFA program at the American Dance Festival and the Kitchen (NY). She has recently performed in work by Ishmael Houston-Jones, Jen McGinn and Regina Rocke.
She has taught for the American Dance Festival Six-Week and Four-Week Schools, Hollins University, Utah High School Dance Festival, Utah Dance Education Organization, HMS School for Cerebral Palsy and the American College Dance Festival Association. She currently assists for the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program, is a guest instructor at the University of Utah & created a dance program for the YWCA of Salt Lake.
She holds B.A.’s with honors in Dance and English from Hollins University as well as an M.F.A. in Dance from the Hollins/American Dance Festival program. She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
