An image of a burlap cloth tent from the inside, looking up. There is stitching that is visible, and dark discoloration on the fabric. There are also holes through which we can see the sky.

TENT is a barter-based story-telling installation created for various locations along the South Platte River. It’s an informal performance/research project and part of Control Group’s ongoing series Treeline, exploring human relationships with nature and wilderness in the Anthropocene Era.

Each pop-up event is an invitation into dialog about how we experience safety, anxiety, and resilience in our personal situation. It is an artistic, therapeutic, and research endeavor, an opportunity to witness and share. The information gathered over the iterative process of TENT will inform how Treeline moves forward through future projects.

Set in outdoor public space, TENT offers visitors a one-on-one conversation about how we meet the unexpected.

A man carries two orange buckets of water, which are hanging from a stick on his shoulders. He is walking away and into a tree-lined area. There are tall buildings just beyond the trees.
