A Letter to Our Community
This is an incredibly challenging time. Everyone I know is grappling with how to navigate the current extreme uncertainty, and in many cases experiencing excruciating losses of income, home, human connection, health, and the lives of loved ones. Within the performing arts, we are facing losses expected to total 50% or more of personnel, organizations, and resources.

Stronger Plans, Higher Standards
Control Group is thrilled to announce receipt of a grant from the Performing Arts Readiness project and LYRASIS with support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation! This award will support a yearlong process of developing an Intersectional Emergency & Accessibility Plan for our organization, with a focus on immersive performance in unconventional spaces.

On Loss and Resiliency
The name 'control group' is fraught with ironies: A nod to our goals of research and experimentation, to our desire to connect scientific and artistic processes, to a proposal that perhaps we are the uninflected ones, the lab rats receiving sugar pills instead of untested experimental compounds.

Commitments to our Community
There’s a lot of listening, participating, and self-examination needed right now. There are also things that I think every American needs to say out loud. We stand firmly and humbly with the peaceful protesters and their call for foundational changes to how we as a community and a country live out our values and work toward a more just society.
